The Process
- Ultraclean use an oxidation/extraction
process in order to reduce sulphur to ultra-low levels without necessitating
hydrotreating.
- Due to the soft nature of the ULTREX™ process, it
is able to be run at relatively low temperature and pressure thereby
substantially reducing utility requirements.
-
Oxidation is achieved
by using a readily available oxidation media in concert with a specifically
developed environmentally benign extraction catalyst. The purpose
built extraction catalyst is used to extract the oxidized sulphur
compounds from the hydrocarbon, and is subsequently regenerated for
reuse.
- Given that our extractant has been specifically engineered
around our application, as with any new chemical, there is always a
regulatory process to go through before it can be used. This process
has recently been completed for use within the US Toxic Substances Control
Act (TSCA) registration.
ULTREX™ Process Control and Safety
Automation
- The ULTREX™ process automatic safety
and control systems are state of the art systems with both control system
hardware and software being designed to comply with regulatory standard
IEC 61508/61511 AK 6 SIL 3.
- The field intelligence and motive hardware devices
are approved to operated in Zoned environments. These devices afford
safe and unmanned operation of the process.
- This system, also by using appropriate
security tools, allows us to constantly monitor the process from any
remote location.
